Careers at RJO UK

"The future is only as solid as the experience upon which it is built. We know that tomorrow's vision is grounded in the hard-earned experience of yesterday and today."

Robert J. O'Brien, Sr., Co-founder of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the exchange’s first clearing member in 1952.

Join the futures family with a history!

R.J. O’Brien & Associates (RJO) commits from the first handshake - whether in our headquarter city of Chicago, Illinois, where we co-founded the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in 1914 - or now, in Canada, the United Kingdom, China and Singapore. It’s true that technology has made the world smaller, but we still appreciate the value of personal interaction with our customers wherever in the world they might be.

R.J. O’Brien (UK) Limited is one of the RJO family of companies, providing introducing broker services to a number of execution/clearing Partners, including RJO in Chicago. As 11th of the top 20 futures commission merchants in the world, RJO has a diverse and growing customer base that relies on our UK team to introduce and support its products and services throughout Europe and the Middle East.

It’s no accident that RJO is still around nearly 100 years after it was conceived. Robert J. O’Brien Sr. is a man known for industry firsts: he took delivery of the first live cattle contract traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), broadcast the first live commodity report from the trading floor and sponsored the first woman to work on the trading floor.

Today, the RJO family of companies relies on a sound integration of proprietary technology and the expertise of our people to serve our customers around the globe, at the high standards they have come to expect.

RJO UK is essentially a sales and marketing division, operating within the European time zone, and utilising the 24-hour Trading, Clearing and Risk Management infrastructure centred in Chicago. We firmly believe in the strength of this centralised Global Infrastructure, combined as it is, with savvy industry experts that trade across multiple languages, time-zones and cultures.

RJO is committed to our employees because our employees are committed to our clients. Nearly a century of experience, success and growth can attest to that.

If you feel the excitement of futures and want to help make history, RJO may be the right place for you.
