Gerald F. Corcoran Elected Director of Futures Industry Association

R.J. O’Brien and Associates, LLC. (RJO), the nation’s largest independent futures brokerage, announced today that Gerald F. Corcoran, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of RJO, was elected to the board of the Futures Industry Association (FIA) at the association’s annual board meeting in Boca Raton, Florida. All board members serve a two year term.
"I am honored to have been selected to join such a prestigious group of colleagues,” said Mr. Corcoran. “The FIA has long been the pre-eminent organization for the futures industry and will remain so as the industry continues to evolve and grow. I look forward to working with the board."
Mr. Corcoran was appointed Chief Executive Officer of R.J. O’Brien in June 2000 and recently was named Chairman of the firm in July 2007. Mr. Corcoran joined RJO in 1987 as Chief Financial Officer and in 1992 was promoted to Chief Operating Officer. In addition to the recent appointment to the FIA Board, Mr. Corcoran has long been an actively involved member of the futures industry. A former member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and former governor of the Clearing Corporation, he was also recently re-elected to serve on the Board of the National Futures Association (NFA). Mr. Corcoran has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society. Mr. Corcoran has also served on numerous local, community and civic boards.
